Funny little scenario, Steve-thank you. Probably one of the few birds not intimidated by jays. What was on the ground that attracted them like that?

Amazing how well adapted birds seem to be at surviving the winter. I suppose a ready supply of food makes all the difference.

Thanks for the kind comments coming from all you great photographers.

Have to agree with Jeremy, the Eastern Jay is a beautiful colored bird despite their pesky reputation.

Rog, I had cracked corn on the ground and a few Black Sunflower seeds.

Ian, I am FAR South compared to you, bet you got a laugh out this one. Where I live we get just about everything Nature can deal out throughout the year. Snow and ice storms are common from now until late March.

Lester, I can't believe how relaxed this dove is either around these jittery Jays but she has done this several mornings in a row, eats fast, snoozes about 5 minutes then leaves for the day.

Thanks Ted, appreciate it

Fun shots Steve...looks like my yard. Not sure which numbers are greater here, Bluejays, Mourning Doves, or Black Capped Chickadees!
