I told the story of 2 photos in the last post -- unfortunately the second photo wouldn't post. The picture below is the bear that we saw while floating down river in a raft. He was just chilling on the river bank.

Thanks for commenting on my photos. I've mostly just been lurking since I joined the Canon ranks about 20 months ago. Great site to pick up some tips and learn.

Both are very nice shots JJ3 and they are proof it is time for you stop lurking and start posting more. I have a feeling that you took many more shots while in Alaska that many of us would sure enjoy viewing. Never get tired of seeing both AK and the bears that live there, bet you had a good time too.:-)

Another nice shot. (You can always add another photo to your original post by responding to your own post. Just paste it into the message.)

SJC -- didn't think about that -- it would have been the simpler way.

Drewhh -- there is a small crop, but the bear was close -- maybe 30 yards.

Steve -- it was a great trip. I think these were my 2 best bear photos, but I do have some other nice captures from the trip as well that I will share. Thanks for the comments.

Love the way the bear is posing for you.
