Looking to put together a backdrop setup mostly for dance shoots, but also just for general shoots when I on occasion don't feel like doing on-location shooting. I'm leaning toward picking up a Ravelli setup with at least 10' height (room for jumps without breaching the top of the backdrop in the frame) such as this one:

Assuming I'm in line with my thinking that 10' is a good way to go, that only leaves the background type and size, of which I'm currently on the fence. If I go with Muslin backgrounds, which would be great for many type non-active/non-dance shoots, I could just pick up this kit and get both the stands and muslins in one fell swoop:

However, I'm thinking I may want to go with a vinyl background as that may be more robust, obviously less prone to wrinkle, and will allow for more fluid movement (spins) without having to worry about it scrunching up. If so, not sure what places offer affordable vinyl at the sizes I'm looking for (10' by ??).

Am I right in this line of thinking? Am I missing something here? Any other input on backgrounds/backdrops for what I'm looking for here?

Interested in any/all feedback on getting a proper setup for mainly dance shoots, but to also be used as a general backdrop for other type shoots as needed.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

Not many people shoot dance against backdrops around here?

I don't know nothing about dance, but I'd worry about any surface that can move for that kind of shot..

I helped out with a dance studio shoot. The primary set up a 10' (high) by 20' (wide) solid backdrop in one of the dance studios. It worked well but some of the older (and taller) dancers leapt beyond the top of the background but that got fixed in photoshop. It worked well.
