I was sneaking down an embankment trying to get a clear shot through the undergrowth of a pair of Hooded Mergansers when I heard splashing nearby. Sat still, and this young bull came into view, did a couple poses, then casually walked off out of sight behind trees. This is when I retreated to let him enjoy his early morning meal.
(little rough looking from loss of hair due to mild tic infestation)

As for antlers, they usually drop them late December, into January. This would be his first set coming in, as he is a yearling.
