These are great. I'd clean up her legs in #1, it looks like she's been kneeling in the mud.

I'm accross the canal just south of Ballard, the town Seattle usurped in 1907.

Nice one - I liked the last shot the most. Number 2 - the sheen on his forehead bothered me a bit - can probably fix that fairly easily? Other than that - like!!

As much as I want to like these pictures, it bothers me that you were off-trail.

What elevation was this at?

Couldn't agree more. Also wondering if a commercial photography permit was purchased?

Off trail? Who cares! An off trail composition is often a better choice than on trail.

Asking if he had a permit is kinda tacky too. Something like asking if he had a drivers license. Let's critique the photos.

#1 - I don't like the choice of B&W. Compare to #3 where we see the nice greens of the field. Her flowers are almost not noticed, due to B&W.

#2 The "dark" idea is a good one for the mix of photos. In this one, I'd crop inwards to remove some darkness at the edges.

#3 Nice shot. Crop some off our left side. That will show them walking into the frame rather than being centered.

#4 Getting a bit closer (to make them larger in the frame) and switching to colour are my suggestions for this one.

Hope these comments are helpful.

Jim

Being off trail in our national parks is prohibited by law, as is commercial photography without a permit. Because it makes a better photo doesn't make it right.

A commercial permit wasn't needed, it was for personal use, no cash changed hands. As for the off trail I am new here, and was unaware. I'm from Nevada, where most of our land is just public use. I was kindly informed by an employee to stay on the trail. You guys can unwad your panties and put down your keyboard warrior helmet.

Alpine and subalpine grass isn't like normal grass – it grows extraordinarily slowly.

Trampling it down can literally kill it. That's why staying on the trails is so important when you're in the mountains.
