Sit;

If you would read some to the earlier post ( second page) individuals were talking about the a6000 vs the 7D MKii. I have both and the a6000 focus in my opinion does not compare to the 7D MKii. you need to read more than just my comment to understand my post

I guess five years ago, when both of those cameras where launched, the AF of the low end MILC was not so great compared to an ‘action orientated ’ DSLR. Today in 2019 it’s a much different situation thankfully.

First. 32 pages back is quite a jump for relevance maybe a quote could have made it more clear.
Second. Marketing mumbo jumbo is usually pretty exagerated anyway so to take that as face value is a bit naive
Third. Camera development has come a long way since 2014 and while e.g. the X-T3, an allround camera is maybe not quite on par with D500, a action/sports/wildlife oriented camera when it comes to AF speed the development continues so....

If history has proven anything. it's that evolution always wins!!

So just skipping over the fact that people looking at the A6000 will most likely compare it to the 2000D or 250D maybe even the 77D at tops you go right to the 7DII @ around 3X the price and are disappointed with its performance juat because the A9 is cheaper than then 1DX2??? Sorry but I think youl have to look with in the segment the cameras aply for.

Sony certainly skipped over that aspect

I was seriously considering a Sony A6000 a year ago when a friend of mine showed me his and let me use it for an hour or so. . When deciding whether to get one or not, I was comparing it to my Canon 1D4, the Canon 6D, the Canon 7D2, and the Canon 5D4.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

A6000 is far from the benchmark in terms of AF performance.... Marketing speak from 2014 when that camera was released isn't relavent in 2019. In 2019, the a6000 is basically the rebel of sony's product portfolio, as their strategy isn't to release updated lower end models, but to keep older models in production and let their positions fall to lower tiers in the product mix.

If we want a true apples to apples comparison, we should look at the best mirrorless offerings today, compared to best dslr offerings today.

Even Canon's lowest end mirrorless in the M series can AF fast enough with the 100-400 with 2xIII to do some action from time to time, beating out even the old stalwart 1D series that wouldn't even AF at f11, so one indeed does need to compare today's systems against each other. Just in a 4 year period, the tech has changed pretty dramatically.

IQ is a more subjective topic that can span back longer periods of time however, but not the tech and AF systems.
