I think it's time for an upgrade when I see this shot. Nice work.

Went to the Getty with the girlfriend today before going to the Stinking Rose...took the 30D and the 30mm...come to think of it...it hasn't left the camera yet...

Man, it's fun shooting with a "normal" prime. But, I find myself wanting to use 1.4~2.0, but it's been too bright out. Should I get a ND filter?

funny - i never notice it being too bright, i shoot wide open 100% of the time. sometimes the meter says it will be overexposed but the photos look fine, or just need a slight adjustment in lightroom

Really? I might have to try just taking a picture and seeing the results. But, every time I try opening up as wide as possible, during the Getty anyway, it didn't go below 1/8000th until I was at f2.8 or so...

I was having a bit to much fun with brushes on this...but I did upload the large so you can see. Shot with the 40d @ F3.5 1/125 and flash off camera through umbrella with the sunset behind her, there is chromatic aberration on where her black hair hits the light background.

Sure you using ISO100? At f1.4 it might go higher than 1/8000 sec.

Sunny 16, at ISO 100 gives 1/100. So f2.8 gets 1/3200. f2, 1/6400. That is where ISo50 option is nice to have.

Yeah, I'm definitely sure it was ISO100. I'll triple-double check...but whenever we were outside, I'm sure it was ISO100. Apart from ISO50, this is where a ISO readout that's always visible in the viewfinder would come in real handy... :3

Here’s a couple samples with the Opteka 13mm extension tube. Yes, aperture and auto focus still function with it.

Engraved Bowl (peacock) shot at @ f/2.8 and Flower shot at f/8.
