I find myself using the lens far more than any other because it's just the right focal length for the photos I take.

I LOVE my 70-200 f/4L IS, but I can't always use it. But when I can't use it and don't need super wide, the 30mm is perfect. In reality, you could EASILY drop the 17-55 (or sigma 17-50 2.8 os in my case) and get a UWA to accompany this in addition to a long tele (70-200) and longer if necessary.

Totally agree with you drew. I am looking at dropping my 17-50 for a uwa.

I'm thinking about the Rokinon 14mm and I would be set!

Thanks vinmunoz. You are going to be fully stoked to have this lens. It is just soooo good and soooo usable on the 60D. I love primes....

If you don't have it, get it! The focal length of this lens for a crop just makes sense.

Thanks IDs... i think this copy doesn't need a calibration. I need to calibrate myself and find a good subject.

it looks so expensive and heavy.... it's like fully loaded. QQ(Quick and Quiet).

I'm so thankful i pull the trigger on this despite the focus issues all over the net.

You helped me with my decision.

Do you think this is a good copy. No questions on F2.8 up, really sharp.

Looks pretty sharp to me, 1.4 is hard to shoot. The slightest movement will shift the focal plane and your are done. (I think my terminology is right?) Here's a pretty hefty crop (to crop out an ugly wall that didn't fit the look) that was hand held without really trying that hard.

f/2

wow! really sharp. 2.0 and above is really sharp. I just tested it wide open. So I guess this copy of mine is a keeper and doesn't need calibration.

thanks again ID...
