Sigma 30mm f1.4 EX DC HSM

So has anyone experienced any problems with this lens?

I've not had the greatest dealings with Sigma, so I don't want to get it and have to deal with more Sigma problems!

Unfortunately, yes, a lot of folks have focus problems out of the box. Mine was horrendously bad front focusing on a T2i. But everyone on POTN that I've seen that has sent theirs in for calibration gets it back and loves it (including me). I guess you'll have to weigh your dealings with Sigma against how much you want the 30mm! I love mine and wish I could get out and use it more.

First time poster on this forum, I used this very thread to zero in on my first prime. Got it today, and I immediatly thought that I got a bad one. I think mine is front focusing, the AF is on the bristles of the toothbrush. Just need to verify this with you guys before I go complain, cause I trust your judgement. The aperature is 2.0

Like the others said I would try on a tripod or set the camera down on a table, and try distinguishing between items a little more - everyone seems to like the battery test.

I had issues too, which you can see on the battery tests here - but all is well after a trip to Sigma.

I've never had any luck with the Firefox EXIF add-on when the photo is on Flickr. I thought Flickr just disabled that somehow. But, if you actually click over to the photo on Flickr, you can either click on the Exif link in the "Actions" tab near the top left, or click on the camera used under the user name on the right (in this case, it says "Canon EOS 1000D").

By the way - that is a great shot b00mALJA, as are the others in that post!

Held off the nearly overwhelming urge to get the 35L, and just ordered a brand new 30...keeping my fingers crossed for a good copy.
