Just got it today! I'm a complete newbie but am excited about learning more.

I am on my second copy, the first would not focus at all. With the second one I always get the feeling it is off a bit. I just love the low light flexibility this lens gives me.

so that is what you do also? focus, then manually adjust a tiny bit?

I can't believe I have like 3 months or more of photos taken with this 30mm lens with me trying to convince myself that it didn't have issues. D:

I hear it's something like $40 to get it calibrated at Sigma? I think that's not worth it for me--it'll likely need to be recalibrated each year... I guess better to upgrade to a body that can microadjust, but I'm ditching this lens for FF anyway, so.

I don't really understand why people would miss this lens when going to full frame... all you need to trade it for (roughly same price) is the Sigma 50mm 1.4 which will be the exact same on FF... I've had ZERO issues with mine and will definitely be keeping it.

Now THAT is cool! How did you get it all smokey and frosty?

Christmas Tree

Interesting shot... It looks as though you shot this wide open, but so much of the reflection is in focus that my eye is drawn to your living room rather than the Christmas tree.

I figured I would ask in here since you all have experience with this lens: Anyone wish they had gotten the Canon 28mm F1.8?

I am stuck between these two lenses, and I am probably leaning towards the sigma, but some of the low light focusing and other focusing issues scare me a bit. I would probably be using this lens in low light situations a lot.
