no problems with low light focusing here with the Sigma - 3200/6400 ISO on a T3i at Disney on certain moving rides were awesome. There are problems with certain copies not all - my first copy form Amazon was front focusing a wee bit - replaced it with Amazon and the next was spot on. In fact being a Amazon prime member, the reps send me another copy with 1 day shipping checked both lenses and sent the older one back.

I did a lot (a lot for me :P) of live music with the 30mm and the 60D, and I would say that there weren't any problems that I had that I probably wouldn't have had with any other lens. I think it's low light is great, especially because its a 1.4 lens and lets a lot of light in when focusing.

So it is pretty good wide open? I feel like I would probably keep it that way often. How does its shapes compare to the nifty fifty?

I figured I would ask in here since you all have experience with this lens: Anyone wish they had gotten the Canon 28mm F1.8?

Not for one second.

But you should also consider the new 35 1.4 which beats this categorically. Unless your budget is tight.

Indeed it is :-p. I just sold my 18-270 to fuel purchasing this guy. I think this should be fine for me. Plus it's already ordered.
