Got my replacement. Did quick focus test by lining up batteries. I think, it is still front focusing. I am going to use it like that. Some day, I will work with Sigma If i am still using my t3i.

Ok. I just took some outdoor portraits. Use your body as a zoom and this lens kicks ass at 1.6. Sharp as hell @ 2.8. This is looking at the LCD. Thats kind of impressive. I want to see what it looks like on the pc now. The 50 is a better macro lens so far. And my review seems to be the same as others on the net.

Sounds like you have a good one. I look forward to seeing some of your shots. I just have to learn how to take better shots. I am HORRIBLE at picking subjects. I am planning on hopefully getting some shots tonight at my kids martial arts class with the new lens. With it's low light capability, I should really be able to speed up the shutter and get great stop action shots finally.

I will take some more pics and post, but report back after I visit Sigma.

I got this lens just a little over a week ago, and I'm liking it.

Very nice first effort. The first one, of your friend, seems exceptionally sharp in the center. The background blur with this lens is great, isn't it?

@ ian_socool - I would say to try shooting at f/1.4, a good 4-5 feet away from the subject, and focus on an eye. Try that in good light.

Took wide open. Little soft and may be front focusing. T3I is very noisy in shadow areas even at ISO 200. Is it normal? Do we get clear shadows with FF.

Wide open, I think you'll find many, many lenses to be a little soft.

Yup. Your talking about 1.4, not 2.8.

Hi,
Is my copy looking fine. I guess, I need to learn post processing techniques.

Hi,

Did you try sharpening in DPP?
