Hi,

I am updating some of my current gear and good i sold few things and bought some others, but because i am in very bad situations financially i can't keep some of my gear and buy new things, either i have to wait longer but then i may lose more value of my current gear, or just let some of my genuine current gear go and buy new models.

For above, i can't afford 7D2 even body only unfortunately after years when i can afford 10 7Ds no problem, but this is life, but now i feel that i need to update some of my old gear just to keep it almost new or up to date, and 7D2 have new whistles these days, so if i want to get rid of my 1D2n i still need little more to get 7D2, but i am still not sure if i should let even my 1D3 go in regard or favor to get 7D2, will you sell your 1D2n and 1D3 just to get 7D2 or it is not worth it?

The use is, sports with 70-200 and 300mm IS, and i am thinking to accept finally to work in the press[newspaper] as a photojournalist and most of the time i need 2 bodies, so what my backup body to be next to 1DX? 7D2 or hold up 1D3 and save in the future to get 7D2 when possible?

I am planning to sell my 1D2n + 1D3 at about $2100 locally, so this will give me roughly $200 as bonus [If calculating the shipping with tax that may come at about $100], $200 is not much for anything else if i decided to sell.

I just want to say buy 7D Mk II = Won't Regret at all ,
I've been using it since several months ago, i bought it with pre order sale .
I love my 7D II since out of the box, with no issue's at all, very useable features, high fps, nice noise performance, great detail,
So my answer is worth to sell your prev camera's then buy the new 7D mk II,

Regards,

"As back up body to 1Dx"

You have a 1Dx?
Then why do you feel you need the 7D2 at all?

Just use the 1D3 as your back up.

Selling the 1D2 seems a waste to me as well as its resale value is now so low. If you need the cash sell it, bit not to fund a camera you can't possibly need.

Now i don't need, but later i may use a second body if i work, and then i need a camera that is as good as 1DX or closer, honestly speaking, 1D3 is never getting closer to 1DX quality, so i was thinking about another body rather than 1D3.

Also i am not in rush, maybe i can afford 1DX, if not then i have to think about another brand new body, and if i want longer i may see new camera from Canon or another manufacturer that is on par to 1DX or surpass it.
