My new Sigma 120-300 Sport arrived. I also ordered the dock, but it's backordered for a few days. While waiting, I started playing around with the lens and noted it needed some MA which I did using the bodies. The thing is....now that I've done that I'm wondering what will be the right approach once I get the dock, because there looks to be some issues.

With my 5D3, I can get perfect focus with -5MA at 300mm, and -7MA at 120mm. So that is pretty straightforward. Adding a 1.4X TC, the lens doesn't need any MA.

With my 1D4, I can get perfect focus with -20MA at 300mm, but then it front focuses at 120mm. If I set -15MA (the 1D4 does not have separate wide and tele settings) the lens is just a hair off at either end. I'd like to get the dock to fix this.

But then how is that going to work? I do not think the dock recognizes different cameras, so do I use the dock to get it perfect on the 1D4 and then use the 5D3 MA settings to get it back to perfect on that camera as well?

Anybody here ever calibrate a single Sigma lens for four confiugurations (two cameras, with and w/o TC)?
