Nikon D600/610 Owners Assemble, Discuss and post Photos!

I think the Sigma 35mm Art is my next lens....somewhere down the line.

I've always wanted the 24-70, but my primes are 85mm, 50mm, and 12mm. Besides not needing to switch constantly, I don't see the point.

It's a great lens so far. I owned the 35L for oer a year and this is definitely sharper across the frame and wide open. It seems to have a bit more micro-contrast. There's a 50 ART for sale locally and I'm tempted to pull the trigger. As much as I want the 24-70, I really only needed it for weddings so I'll just rent them when that time comes.

Getting adjusted to the advanced settings and menus on the D610 has proven quite a challenge coming from the extremely simple and intuitive setup of the Fuji. I had to suck up my pride and watch youtube videos on how to switch AF modes haha. I have a real shoot coming up on Monday that I'll really get to put it through the ringer.

I love my D600. I hope you'll have the same experience with your D610. Don't forget to post your pics here too.

Some great photos out here! Here's a snapshot I took with my new camera.

Just found out about this thread! Here's a couple shot recently. I have a 600 and 610 and love them both. Recently had to get the shutter and sensor replaced on the 600 (it blew out mid-wedding after about 200,000 actuations!). It was a week in side the warranty - repaired free of charge. Stoked, to say the least ....

Since I went digital I have been using a D300 because I am trying to live on social security disability, so money is not exactly flowing my way. The way I got other things was to sell stuff from when I was working. But after a while, you run out of stuff. I really wanted to upgrade but just could not make it happen. Then something happened I had worried about for a while. My 11 year old D300 started to act up on me. Talking on forums it was quickly figured out it was a serious problem and not worth fixing. I was sick with depression. No camera to shoot with. Then I was contacted by someone who offered to do a long term loan of a D600. I kept telling him I had no idea when I would get a new camera. He kept saying it was OK. Then few days later he contacted me and said he was thinking about it and thinks it would be better to just offer to sell it to me at an incredible price, and I could make payments on it whenever I could. I said it all depends on his price because I did not want to owe him for a long time. He came back with a unbelievable price. I quickly agreed. As it was making its way to me I started thinking this camera is going to be all beat up with a ton of shutter actuations. Well it showed up and man was I wrong. It was in better shape than my D300 and 1/3 of the shutter count too. I couldn't believe it. I have two lenses that are full frame and two that are DX. I know you can put it into crop mode but it is not very good. So once I pay him off I will be saving for a wide angle lens for the D600.

The first time I shot it I was blown away. And I still am everytime I use it. The clarity and color are amazing. And the ISO is amazing. I am loving the full frame camera.

I am still amazed how generous someone I hardly know was to me. I am striving to pay him off as quickly as I can. It just goes to show that the photography community is full of amazing people. Oh yeah. My original D300 also died. And a guy I met just once gave me a D300 he had sitting on his shelf. Would not take money for it. I know in the future if someone needs something and I have one I can spare, they are going to get it. Here are a few photos from my new D600.
