I ordered a few backdrops and a few newborn photography props on BlackFriday. It's been a month now and nothing has shipped. I never got any e-mail saying why, but when I check online it shows 2 of the backdrops as backordered and one set of backdrops as backordered. There is a note that says candy drops showing as backordered are not really backordered but "in production". How long does it take to produce these things? I'm starting to get annoyed with it. I contacted customer service and they just reiterated that a few of my things were backordered and holding up the shipping. I responded that it has been a really long time and I need these things for a shoot on Jan 2. She said they were closed the weekend and would get back to me Monday regarding a possible shipping notification. Monday came and passed (before CHristmas) and I emailed her and she said sorry, still backordered. So I wrote back saying, can they ship part of my order which is in stock. She said she would get back to me but never did. I posted on their facebook page and they wrote back saying...contact us at such and such email address but then deleted the post, I guess because it was negative feedback.

What bugs me the most is that the items I ordered, if you look at them on the site even now, don't show as backordered...yet they have been for a month now? I feel like in this business it's really important to be able to get stuff to people on time...or at least be honest about what is or is not in stock. Really leaves a bad taste in my mouth here...people from etsy can get me stuff in time and that needs to be hand made...but this big company can't even respond to my emails in a timely manner. Sigh...

Never used them but I have to say that they have the lowest BBB rating that I have ever seen, D+. A google search of customer service turns up more bad reviews than I can fit on a 2 terabyte drive. Sounds like its time to cancel your order, notify your credit card company, and look elsewhere for the backdrops. :-(

They are slow and pretty bad, and the quality of their products are even worse.

I had picked up some stuff from them last year at wppi in Vegas. This is good to know not to order anything else from them. If anything just buy from them at the show.

I had a very similar experience to you. I placed an order in January. All of the items were in stock. After a few days 2 of the 3 items I ordered were all of a sudden on backorder. I contacted them via email, and somehow managed to convince them to partially ship what was in stock, which apparently they don't normally do.

In June (yes, 6 months later) I was finally able to get the rest of my order. They didn't ever get what I had initially ordered back in stock and I settled for something that was different, but close to what I had wanted. This was not an easy 6 months. I had to constantly follow up via email and phone. Many times my calls and emails weren't responded to. If memory serves I think I had to threaten legal action if they didn't ship me the missing pieces or refund my money.

My advice: Stay away. They're a shady operation, and I'll never order from them again. Lesson learned.

Check out Hobby Lobby, Michael's, AC Moore, etc for newborn props. I've had pretty good luck finding good stuff at those places.

I just got back from Hobby Lobby, got a couple neat things. Part of me is really tempted to cancel my order, because I'm annoyed and also it seems like it's going to be a long process. On the other hand I really like the things I ordered...and if I were able to actually get them I think I'd be happy. Also the prices were so good....$39 for 5x7 floor drops. I don't need anything fancy yet but it looks like I won't have anything thanks to them.

I don't know any other company that will hijack your entire order for a few backordered things. They have made no effort to get me anything...it's essentially like stealing money at this point. If I never harassed them would I ever get my stuff?

Yep this is a BAD company.

Just called to see what is going on and tell them that they are royally screwing me over with this. She said "I'm waiting for a tracking number to update in the system but that will take 24-48 hours to update"

Me: So has it shipped?

Her: I can't confirm that without speaking with the shipping dept.

Me: Do that.

Her: I can call them but it will take a few hours for them to get back to me.

Me: When do you close?

Her: 5pm Pacific....2 hours. (So convenient.)

Me: So you're saying that my items are NOT on backorder?

Her: I don't see that in my system, no.

I guess I will call back tomorrow. This "waiting for a tracking number but it can take 1-2 days" is CLEARLY a stall technique. I was like...so you can't tell me if it's shipped or not, but that is all you can say is that it may have? Awesome. How long can we play this game.

Asked if they could rush ship me the stuff that was IN stock, she said some crap about because of the free shipping they can't do that. I got pretty irritated and said they should be able to do something for me after holding on to my money for a month and no shipping and no information. She did not give a F. Ugh. This is a real pain.

Got this email shortly after getting off the phone with "customer service"

Hi Jennifer,

Just got an update , your order has been received into the shipping department. I don’t see that anything on your order is unavailable. We should have a tracking number for you by tomorrow afternoon. Based on the information I was provided your order should arrive to you by Friday.

I'm skeptical.

No tracking number today. E-mailed her at 5:20 (2:20 pacific time)...no response. I will call tomorrow....just to see what nonsense they come up with at that point. Then I start blowing up review sites. I see some people get attention that way.

I suspect they are just a middleman buying the backdrops for $15 each, and the supplier cannot get them to them. If you look, you can find them on ebay and they look similar. I was looking at them and am glad I saw this post though.

Problems? Yes indeed. I ordered backdrops about a year ago, no problem. I received all my order in a timely fashion. About 4 months ago, through their endless emails, I ordered again. Well time went on, nothing showed up, I called and SURPRISE back ordered. Nothing showed back ordered when I placed my order. Then later, I called again after they said, "Oh give it about 3 days" to find out it is held up in port for some crazy reason. It should ship soon I was told. They said they would express ship it to me when they received product. It took forever! Finally received my backdrops, just very thankful I wasn't planning a shoot on a deadline. No more ordering from them.

Capture today, for everyone to enjoy tomorrow!:D

Yeah it's pretty crappy. I ordered a couple props too I was excited to use. Thankfully a friend of mine with a studio is going to lend me a few drops.
