I have a 50mm lens for my camera, but I plan on shooting a few rock shows over the summer and I'm pretty sure the 50 is too cropped for concerts, especially since I'll be shooting from the area between the front row and the stage. Is this lens wide enough to capture good images from the very front of the stage? stuff like this: http://www.nippertown.com …10/04/ThirdEyeBlind01.jpg http://jamorama.com …/uploads/2009/10/edge.jpg It's definitely one of the bang for the buck lenses you can get for crop camera. If you are shooting outside then Canon 17-40mm L is good. And I only have good things to say so far about the Sigma 15-30mm I got for almost no money. If you are going to shoot indoors then Sigma 20mm f1.8 is good... or 17-40+flash... | 5DII | Tokina 11-16 | 35L | TS45 | Sig50 | 135L |

I'll suggest, that you check the photos, you've already done with your other (zoom-??)lenses. Take a look how many of them have been shot in the range ~25-40mm. You can do this easily with a smart-selection in Lightroom. Hi. My name is Dirk and you can find me on •• flickr
