Just got this lens today. I must say I'm pleasantly surprised with the build and the focus speed. It's also not nearly as noisy or obnoxious as I expected.

Been researching a wide angle lens and fell upon this thread and its what made me decide to order my 35mm!! It is supposed to arrive today, BUT looks like Fedex either is teasing me by not updating their tracking, or it got delayed somewhere and won't make it . As long as its here by Christmas Eve though I'm happy! I was hoping to test it out this weekend a bit though!

I currently use a T2i with a 50mm f/1.8....it never comes off my camera, but I've learned I need something for those times I'm in tight spaces and can't get the image I want. My 8 month old daughter is my subject 95% of the time, so I'm hoping it works out well for photos of her!

Hope to be posting some sample shots here soon!

I'm thinking of making this purchase as well. The 50 f1.8 is nice when it is in focus but the AF is just plain terrible. Only 30% of my shots are in focus. I hope that is not the case with the 35.

I have the 35, and the focusing 'while noisy' is very accurate. And even at f2, the lens is sharp.
