No fair! My 35 is nowhere near that sharp!! :p

Fantastic portrait :)

Seems like the 35mm gets a lot of use photographing babys and young kids

Oh why thank you! That is all this lens is getting used for ;)...I do wish to photograph some families in the future though, and can't wait to see how it'll handle that!

Here's another from yesterday that I've fallen in love with :):

After missing on Sigma 30mm 1.4 deal, got 35mm f2 refurb from Canon for $204. Is there any procedure to check the sharpness and focus for this lens.

I would keep the nifty fifty as well, they're both pretty great value for the money. I will say though that ever since I bought my 35/2 it hardly ever comes off my camera! :D

Looks like 35/2 will be enough for me. I will use 18-55 kit lens to go wide. Probably, I never use 55-250 kit lens.

Just got mine for US$50 today! Best Deal I got on camera accesories ever! lol
I'm running around like a kid more even when I got my other stuff. hahaha
Who got the oldest 35mm?
Mine is UF date code. which means produce in 1991. lol
Works like a charm so far.

A = 1986, 1960
B = 1987, 1961
C = 1988, 1962
D = 1989, 1963
E = 1990, 1964
F = 1991, 1965
G = 1992, 1966
H = 1993, 1967
I = 1994, 1968
J = 1995, 1969
K = 1996, 1970
L = 1997, 1971
M = 1998, 1972
N = 1999, 1973
O = 2000, 1974
P = 2001, 1975
Q = 2002, 1976
R = 2003, 1977
S = 2004, 1978
T = 2005, 1979
U = 2006, 1980
V = 2007, 1981
W = 2008, 1982
X = 2009, 1983
Y = 2010, 1984
Z = 2011, 1985

Mine has UA0807 date code. I bought it from Canon as refurb for $204 + tax. Is it too much for lens made in 1986.

I recently picked up this lens and I'm blown away at how sharp it is for such a low cost lens.
