Looking for some assistance with a Lilliput 669 7" Monitor I have.

I use it with my 7D, I don't use it for Video as I use it for reviewing my images in poor light (ie 4:30am sunrise shots and the like) as my eyes are struggling with the
standard LCD. Its connected using the HDMI connection, and I have the Canon battery attachment to power the thing.

My question is, I'd like to use it with my 1Ds MKIII, but as the 1Ds MKIII has no HDMI connection, what are any possible connectivity options I can look into?
Any assistance greatly appreciated. Cheers

If you still have the video adapter that came with the camera, one of these (external link) might work. Basically, since the video out of the 1D3/1Ds3 (and other older digital EOS models) is composite video, you're looking for a composite video-HDMI adapter.

Jon, many thanks for your response. I have read up about those, but it seems I actually need a converter not an adapter to go to HDMI as many sites have stated. I have ordered a Composite to VGA adapter and see if I can get that to work. Otherwise I think I will have to resign myself to the fact that the 1Ds MkIII will not be able to use this monitor. Which would be a shame. :-(
Will update this thread when it arrives, and advise whether it works or not.

Again, appreciate your response.

Well, low and behold I have got it working!

The "missing" piece to the puzzle was actually the proprietary cable lilliput use for their screens to connect anything other than HDMI.
Unfortunately the "cable" did not come with the screen I bought (second hand), so I had to source one.
Managed to locate one, hooked it up today and voila, I'm in business.

Thanks.
