Took a mini BBQ Tour in the countryside and was fortunate that a few places allowed me to take some shots. I really need that 6D for higher ISO's :) but these still came out well and the IS was quite effective (all handheld). Personally, #3 is one of the best images I've ever taken, ever. Hope you like 'em and C&C welcome.

And as for the food, there ain't nothing that compares to Texas 'que.

Looks awesome, those brick have soaked up a lot of smoke. Looks like a pretty big outfit too. For a smaller joint, if you are ever up just North of Huntsville, check and see if Church BBQ is still around - good stuff.

Great shots

Thanks for the good words, gents.

First shot is from the City Market in Luling. The other three are from Kreuz. We stopped at McKinney Falls for an hour, then over to Meyer's Elgin Smokehouse for sausage (but no smokehouse to photograph...) About 8 hrs, 350 miles.

Thanks. We've been to McKenzie's, but Church's still shows on Google Maps, so will grab some next time we're camping up there. We usually get some chop or pulled pork and cook it up as mountain pie sandwiches for dinner. Ohhh.... so good.
