thoughts on this? I'm not 100% sure if the noise in the photo is too much or if it's okay. I think I like it, but could use some opinions, also wouldn't mind if anyone had any other suggestions on how to improve it (crop some of the top out of it?). thank you in advance!

There's noise in the photo? I see a sleeping dog. My eyes must be getting old. I think that people often put far too much emphasis on noise. It's a nice shot if it's your dog. But then again, most pet shots are like that. I do wonder about the white balance. Or were you trying for a sepia tone?

+1 on the noise issue. I like the lighting and the composition. Very nicely done.

I'll double check the white balance, that's an excellent point and one I didn't notice. I'll have a look at that tonight and see if I can fix that, was indoor lighting (fairly dark) and looking at it now I need to fix that

Agree. I don't see any noise. It's a really good shot. White balance can be fixed but overall it's a strong sharp image. Good job.

I might have tried it a little more zoomed out to get the whole leg in the image. Or I would have gone in really close to just get the lovely face of the pup. Not saying it would be better or worse, but I would have at least tried those shots to see if I liked them better.
With sleeping dogs, you have plenty of time to try different things. Take that opportunity to see what shots you can get.
I do like the aperture with the leg going out of focus. I do like that you got down on the dogs level instead of shooting down. I do like that you go in close enough to try to exclude the unneeded surroundings.
So you have a lot of good things going for you, just mix it up when you can. Don't stop at one shot. Or multiple shots of the same pose. You might find several shots you take that are unconventional that you really like since you have a non moving model. Which is impossible with a pup that is awake. :-)

Absolutely. I think people often put too much emphasis on a lot of things that aren't important to a good picture.

adjusted the white balance slightly and think this fixes it, but let me know if it still seems off
