Looking for a canvas hiking camera bag. I like the vintage "Indiana Jones" look.

I like the looks of this one but don't trust it.

Anyone know of or can suggest something similar in looks to this one? I like the fact that there is somewhere to put things besides camera gear but it's missing a tripod strap and the side access.

Thanks!

Your link seems to be broken, so you may want to double check that. A chunk appears to be missing and the forum is seeing it as just a link to amazon.com.

Dude! It's New Years Eve!

Check out the National Geographic line. I'd suggest the Domke F2 or F3 backpacks (distinct from the F2 or F3 shoulder bags), but they seem to have discontinued them. Still, if you can find one, they're very nice.

I bought one of these. It works for just walking around. Holds a camera, flash and a lens plus little things like batteries. Can't beat the price either.

Looks like the pack just hangs off your shoulders without any hip support. You will get tired really fast with this pack if you put any gear into it. I'd look for a pack that provides a good hip support system if you want something truly usable for more than an hour at a time.

Either look at a true hiking pack and get a camera insert or take a look at the F-stop line of bags. This just looks like pain to me.

+1. The pack you linked to will be very uncomfortable and sweaty on an actual hike. I'd recommend one of the Lowepro Filpside Sport bags. I've had my 20L fully loaded with a tripod and a 1.5L hydration pack on 5+ hour hikes. It is heavy but with the hip strap the weight is properly supported.

Yeah, buy a bag that fits what you need to carry but first priority should be comfort rather than style or looks. I have both Tamrac Expedition and Clik Elite, very comfortable and durable. They stick to my body without shifting regardless of activity. For your purposes I'd recommend taking a look at Tamrac. Really nice day pack for camera gear.

Good luck!

That's all good advice that I already know. But my question isnt "is this bag any good" because I know it's not; i just like the looks of it. My question is... Is there a GOOD canvas style bag out there that is functional as a hiking bag. Obviously I am looking for comfort, that is why I asked the question to begin with. Also, I do not want a bag that LOOKS like a camera bag - people like to steal and they are also ugly.
