I enjoy your prose connections to your photos itsallart and darkslinger.

I have a hard enough time coming up with a picture let alone prose to go with it. :p

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

That red fence really stands out against the background. Nice contrast.

I had big, big plans for this month and then, as is so frequently the case, life got in the way. At one point I considered trying to take pictures of alternate definitions of the colors -- for example, instead of taking a photo of something that's the color green I'd take a photo of something that's "green" meaning environmentally friendly. Another thought was to take photos of just about whatever I wanted to and give them each a garish pop-art Warhol-ish treatment in post. But my favorite idea that I didn't get around to was inspired by something CameraMan said when he saw the list of topics for March -- he said something like 'I guess I'll have to put away the black-and-white film for this month'. And I thought - why? The idea was to photograph familiar things that are usually a certain color -- an apple for red, a sprawling endless lawn for green, etc. -- but photograph them with black and white film. I still think that could be awesome, but I just didn't have the time. :(

In the end though, I barely ended up hunting at all. I took all these photos on the first weekend of the month when I was on a getaway to a beach town. Had a couple film cameras with me at all times and was loving the color I saw around town. So I basically threw the actual list out the window and just went out shooting "color", without looking for any specific color.

Without further ado... my photos of "color":

Bikes Under Stairs:
I was drawn in by the color of the sidewalk and siding leading into the brick leading into the underside of the stairs -- and I like the colors of the bikes themselves too.
Shot with a Canon EOS IX on Ferrania aps film.

Seaside Tree:
This one looked a lot greener in real life -- especially the green moss on the bark of the tree. So, not very colory - but it's still my favorite photo of the month.
Shot with an Olympus Infinity Stylus on Fujifilm 200.

Southport Alley:
I kinda love the crap out of this one too, but I really wish I could've taken that black mat out of the shot. Unfortunately there was a repairman working in the alley there and he was patiently waiting for me to take my shot and I didn't want to take advantage, or push my luck.

Brick Wall:
Just the side of a building that caught my eye.

Old Chair:
Was drawn to both the color of the wall and the colors on the bowl on that old chair. In an courtyard outside a coffeehouse called The Flying Pig in Oak Island, NC. (O.I.N.C. - get it?) ;)

Vine Wall:
Since I clearly had no use for rule-following this month, why not throw in a sixth photo? A wall on the other side of The Flying Pig.

Fantastic work, Michi!

I tried to come up with something different for my last one, like green with envy, or something like that, but I didn't.

So...Tucked in all that Green, the wisteria grows.
