Just wondering if anyone using an aftermarket battery on their 6D has applied the recently released firmware update. If so, does your non-OEM battery still work?

I used Wasabi batteries in my 6D before the latest firmware update. The work flawlessly. After the firmware update... nothing changed.

Not really, that's an old thread.

I have aftermarket batteries and they work fine. I just wanted to know if the very recent firmware update (about a week ago) had an effect.

Brilliant. Thanks for that.

I use Wasabi batteries in a 6D, just applied the latest firmware, and there are no problems with battery registration or related functionality.

If there were any NEW problems related to the firmware update I'm guessing we would have heard about them by now.

Thanks again for the input. Its interesting that here in the UK we don't seem to get the same brands as you i.e. STK and Wasabi. The one I bought was branded "Baxxtar" http://www.amazon.co.uk …059&sr=8-5&keywords=lp-e6 (external link) Its a vivid red in colour that makes it easy to tell apart from the genuine Canon one.

You seem to be paying a lot less for your batteries. The battery in the link above costs us $39.
