Wanting to change software. (I despise iPhoto!) PS Elements 13 looks good, but I'd like to hear from some folks who actually use it. Good program? Steep learning curve? Any info would be welcome. Thanks.

For the average user PS Elements will do what they need from a pixel editor.

In my opinion, a combination of Lightroom and a decent photo editor program is the perfect combination. If you shoot events the ability to manipulate hundreds of photos at the same time really helps with the work flow. I probably use Photoshop for less than 5% of the photos I process. (I do use CS6, but was satisfied with Elements 8.0 for years.)

I would advise anyone to get Lightroom first. Then use the free trail offers to see which pixel editor works best for them.

+1 to the above. I use Lightroom for 95% of my post processing and only use a pixel editor (PSE) when I need to do some cloning.

PSE is good for what it is, a chopped up version of Photoshop. I would not consider it for basic photo editing since lightroom is a far better product for that.

I do own both Lightroom and PSE but I only use elements when I need to work with layer masks. For everything else it's lightroom
