My very first L lens, and a great lens it is! Had this lens about 10 years now. Had the Canon 300 F2.8 IS lens but too heavy for me so sold it recently. Bought used, paid $725 for it, bought this first -before even buying a digital camera. I don't think I will ever part with it, besides sentimental value, it takes excellent pictures. I don't see them for sale too much, too good a lens to part with. Bought other lens since then but still use this one too! Grab one if you can - read somewhere that this lens is sharper than the newer 300 F4 with IS. It is still a keeper!!

Had one in 2010 but sold it, yet yesterday bod one again for not much money. In the weekend some testing. And happy with this top lens.
