Just when I'm almost ready to order the 7d2, I find a brand new 5d3 for 1959.00. I've been following all the 7d2 threads and sweating all the focus issues and finally decided to just go ahead and do it. I get on the 'net and bam, cheap 5d3. I'm going to pair one of them with Tamron 150-600 and I know I'll get the extra reach with the 7d2 but the 5d should do as good with an extender plus have the added benefit of ff. Back to the drawing board I guess.

Where did you find a 5d3 under $2000 US? I just ordered a new 5d3 from an authorized USA retailer for $2469 (after $300 rebate).

Yeah. Tell us 'where' you found this deal. There are a lot of shady places.

http://www.daxmart.com …-Body/p-2826?refid=Ibcart (external link). Was a promo price, its the second time I've seen it that low. Pulled off google ad, haven't really checked into the seller closely, but the price has really dropped since the 7d2 started shipping

They also offer the 5D mark III in a kit with a 18-55mm lens. I'm pretty sure canon only makes those with an EF-S mount.

I would be wary them.

Might want to spend a few minutes scrolling through a few pages of their reviews on Resellerratings.com

The fact that they offer the 5DIII in a kit with the 18-55 would have stopped me from buying there before even looking at ratings.

True enough Tom, still I like to pay a visit to reseller whenever the price is too good to be true.

I think it's fair to say it's an unauthorized dealer selling grey market gear. That's not necessarily a deal breaker, but check first with CPW because they report similar sellers/deals that are reputable.

And I wouldn't buy from this DM without a thorough look at their reviews and some assurances about their 1-year warranty.

Well read their reviews, sounds like they're kind of hard to deal with, but not a rip-off i guess. Might be worth the peace of mind to order elswhere tho if you dont have nerves of steel!

Did you see the reviews as suggested above?

I would stay away from this seller.

But then on the other side, I am seeing constant recent sales on 5D III and 70D. I am tired of saying that, the rumors might be true for replacement, though this could be really the right time (As of 3-4 years back) to replace that absolute for time, 5D MK II that has a facelift AF with something that is really right for the 2015...

The main official UK Canon retailers were offering a free Grip. So the effective price of a 5D3 was £2300 less £250 = £2050.
Today its gone back to £2,300!

5D4 ????? Maybe not.-?

$1,849.00 right now. $ hours and 15 minutes left. Sounds desperate.

HaHa, yeah, the never ending sale,10 hrs at a time I think. The clock reaches 0 it just rolls back over. After careful research I have found that this deal IS too good to be true. Too bad, not enough finances right now but I could have sold the wife's car or something.
