Painter adds a whole new dimension to my art. I would like to see if anyone else uses it in their photography. Show me your images!

These are pretty neat :). Weird though...this is with a camera and post processing? They look like drawings!

Hi xarik,

these were actual photographs, then taken into Painter & played with, painted on etc. I used both Painter X3 & CS6. The top image I sold (I like to imagine a elementary teacher maybe bought it). I had my mum living with me for about 6 years, she had dementia so my photography got put on the back burner (which I hated) so I learnt painter & took old images & played with them. I got quite good at it ( I like to think that lol) so I didn't go crazy for those 6 years. My mum passed away in August of last year, so my photography is back with a vengeance. To be truthful, Painter is actually an awesome program & can add a lot to your images. It does have a learning curve but what doesn't! Thank you for commenting, much appreciated!:-)

I could see these images hanging in my room without a doubt in my mind! Nice work and I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully photography is a means to working through things :)

Thanks xarik,

It is different I know but glad that you liked them. Yes, photography is a means to working through things, it has been my anchor for many a year. Just got a used 5D classic, and the new Canon 70 - 200 2.8 Mark ii. So excited that I can't hardly think straight lol!

These were done using LR4 to process the RAW files and PSCS5 for the effects, no plug ins/Actions or special filters. once I get the sort of watercolour effect I have lately been printing some of them off. I have been using my Pixma MG5150 printer, but using Artists watercolour paper, not photo paper. The results are really good. The first image of my daughter posted here she appropriated. When she showed it to friends they thought it was a real watercolour painting, not a photographic based printed image. I just wish there were a way to show the actual prints online. (I posted a link to the other thread as I cannot post an existing gallery image here). Here are a few more new images.

Taken last winter when we had a storm surge and exceptionally high spring tide. The river which is only about 50 yards from where I live burst its banks. It got to within about three inches of actually coming over the wall. I was stood in about six inches of sea/river water taking the picture.
