Country sunsets

maybe I had my hopes up regarding the way these would come out, but I think they came out mediocre. what do you guys think?

It looks like there were some high clouds. These can make a sunset more dramatic. But you would have to wait a little longer. They are often at their best just before and a little after the sun has dropped below the horizon. At least you didn't make the mistake of making the sunset the subject, as is the case in millions of other sunset shots. You've got something interesting in the scene besides the sun. That adds to the appeal of sunset shots.

Ya I would have waited longer if my family didn't have something to do shortly after this shot. I had to work with what I had and that specific location of the sun. Happy the way it came out. Those were just quick edits. Here is the final edit.

Power lines and high tension towers don't really say country to me; like the colors and light in these, but those towers and lines are just an eyesore, IMO.

i have to assume that the colors in these shots are created in post. They look unnatural for the time of day/angle of the sun.

Personally I think the power lines make the photo, although I do agree that it doesn't shout out countryside to me, really like the second shot.
