So I'm new to using wireless flash. Is there a specific one you'd recommend?

Pocketwizards Plus X?

What type of wireless flash? If it's for the 580exII in your sig I'd suggest the Yongnuo 622-c triggers http://www.amazon.com …-2&keywords=yongnuo+622-c (external link) (B&H also has them for sale but its says 2-4 week wait)

They will allow ETTL and Manual controls, Remote power adjustment, remote zoom adjustment, group mode, rear curtain sync, and High speed sync.

I was going to purchase those but they're out of stock. I will need it for a project on January so I'm thinking of going with something else. 6D and 580EXII combo

Good find on the Amazon ones! Are they better than the pocket wizards?

Some will say yes others will say no. Pocket wizards have been the industry standard for years. They are good but have not been without their faults and they are manual only triggers.

The yn-622 allow for far more control at a fraction of the price. They have proven themselves to be very good triggers but, like the pocket wizard, not without its faults. If you do get the yn-622 I'd hold off on getting the 622-tx as its going through a hardware update to extend it's range (the regular 622's have far better range then the current yn622-tx)

There is a big thread in the 622. I'd scroll through it and get other people opinions as well have check out Clive's guide to the 622.

I am using a 6D and 580EX II also and I just picked up three Yongnuo YN-622C's and a YN-622C-TX. So far I love them, ETTL control and remote manual power adjustments are awesome to have. I am likely going to pick up two additional cheap Shanny or Yongnuo flashes to use with them as my Sigma doesn't work as reliably as I would like. I can't speak to the Pocketwizards but the Yongnuo's were a fraction of the cost and have a lot of functionality.
