Hi All,

I have not been active for quite a long time. Sadly, a recent divorce will force me to let go of my beloved collection.

I am planning to keep 35L, 70-200 f/4L and 2 more. Photography is just a hobby for me, which also I haven't been doing for a long time.

Will you help me decide another 2 lenses to keep? (I have 6D body)

> 15 FE (will have to go for sure)
> 70-200 F/2.8 IS II
> 135L
> 85 1.2L
> 24-70 (old version)
> 100L 2.8 macro

Thank you everyone!

Sorry to hear :(

My best advice would be to keep the 4 you use the most, and that allow you to shoot the things you most enjoy shooting.

Yeah, that would be 24-70 included... :(

That's 3. So then it's between the 135L, 85L and the macro? Yikes. Do you shoot much macro? If not you can probably strike that off the list.

135L vs 85L is tough. But since you are keeping the 70-200 I'd probably choose the 85L over the 135L unless the af speed matters to you (if you shoot indoor action I'd go 135 instead). I'm assuming it doesn't make sense to keep both 70-200s.

Is the need to trim down to only 4 lenses based on value, quantity, or some other factor? My first instinct is to keep the 4 most valuable lenses if possible.

With that in mind, I would probably go 35L, 85L, 100L, 70-200II.

Keep the 100L, sell the rest and buy a 28-70 II.

Well, I would like to sell the most expensive ones, I need the $$ right now.

I left 35L and 70-200 F/4 in my home country so definitely not selling.

In that case, 35L, 135L, 70-200 f/4 and 24-70 might be the way to go. That lineup makes a pretty solid all-round kit.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I'm also with the guys to keep the 35,135, 24-70 (only if you're going to use this a lot) & 70-200 F4. But you know better than all what you need for your style.

that is a perfect decision imo

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.
