1st wedding

So like a lot of people here I got invited to a wedding (in-laws in-laws family.. if that makes sense).. The couple is in their later 30's and have basically been married (without a ring) for about 20 years. So it wasn't a huge event and just about everything was provided by friends and family. So with no budget for a photographer they invited me to the wedding and asked "can you take some pictures for us".. Now I'm by no means a wedding guy, heck I'm not much of any type of photographer yet..

So wedding was set for new years eve night and it was a warm 29 degrees out.. one medium tent for the reception and wedding that seated about 50 (about 120 were crammed inside though).

So with that in mind here it my 1st wedding.. Only gear used was my 6d w/ 24-105 and a flash (3200 iso). Wanted to setup up a second flash and break out the 50 but there was no room inside the tent.

Nice job, I bet they loved those. That last one really tells a story.

I was definitely a bit nervous being the 1st wedding I shot and since it was an outdoor wedding starting after dark. Thankfully they did everything inside a nice big white tent that allowed me to bounce my flash all over.

Some nice shots in this set. I love the rings shot - well done. Good groups too.

I'm not fond of the first one, due to the backs of so many people. I wouldn't put that shot first in your set of photos for that reason.

Yea the first shot was just to show how packed in everyone was. It was a constant effort to get around other family members. Thankfully most of them were just watching the ceremony and not trying to snap camera phone pics every second.
