The loves in my life

This is one of my favorite images i have taken and i think it shows everyone in their true colours. I would love some feedback and suggestions.

"True colors" in a black and white shot? Sweet irony.

It's a slice of life shot. The only quibble that I have is that it looks tilted to the left, judging by the door frame of the building.

haha yeah, i didn't think about my wording.... So a little rotation wouldn't go a miss?

My personal opinion only:
1. I do not find the photo interesting the way that you have it cropped (if you did). Both of the horses are missing parts of their rear section.
2. The person in the center seems disinterested in what she is doing and it seems that her face is out of focus (or she is moving).

Overall the picture doesn't do anything for me.

Some images we treasure because of emotional value, even though they are not photographically good.

Yes. of course you are biased and you should be. With that accomplished, the next trick is to get us to see the same special things you do. If the lady and horses are the loves then a crop would help focus our attention where it belongs.

see i was thinking about a crop but then i would lose the barn (tack room) which i like. Maybe it is bad composition but i find it hard to get candid's with the great composition they deserve. Especially when working with animals.

You see none of their eyes or faces - that makes the photo lose much of what could create a great image.

See, that's one of the things i like about it.

You certainly have two great subjects there. I hope you continue "horsing around" with them camera in hand. You're sure to get some better shots if you keep in mind the good advice here.
If you can, I'd suggest another shoot with a less cluttered background.
