The battery life on the SL1 isnt the greatest so I would like to go with a battery grip but I would also like to use a flash bracket to be able to keep my flash above.

I have heard of issues when using both at the same time: 2nd shutter button being block by bracket, camera freezing with both attached, etc. Some issues specific to certain cameras. Does anyone have any general suggestions or personal experience with the sl1 with either or both?

Either way, I will be ordering a flash bracket for sure. Would it cause too much complication with a battery grip too? Should I just stick with the bracket and extra batteries or is there a bracket that works best with grips?
