Is it supposed to have two colors selected? I see the Statue of Liberty in green and then the car lights in red.

To be honest, not a fan of it. Those buildings right there are way to colorful to relegate to B&W.

But, unless you're getting paid by a client, it's what looks good to you that counts.

Yes went for the two colours as the focal point being the statue and trying to frame the picture with the trails of car lights if that makes sense.

I like it. A different look. The only observation might be to try and straighten the lean-in look to the buildings. But even so, while many folks will criticize the thought of selective color, there are times it adds a unique image that works. For me, this is one of those times. Nice job!

The Empire State Building looks better now but, to me, it appears as though the Chrysler building is falling to the right.

Selective color is not a favorite on this forum. There are some cases where it might work. But in my opinion this is not one of them. In general it is perceived as a trick that fascinates novices. To the more experienced eye, it screams "Look at me! I'm the important part of the image." This of course is because the composition is lacking in that it fails to identify a clear subject.

Joe, I think that is the best explanation of why I don't like selective color. I could never really put it into words and you did so elegantly there.
I think the comment above about relegating those colorful buildings to B/W is the right one. I have been to Vegas many times and the whole city is alive with color. So taking that away, kind of kills the image to me.

I'm not a big fan of selective colouring but this one isn't too bad. I would like to see a version of the photo in colour with a desaturated or muted look.

For this picture I am not a fan. I do like selective coloring sometimes, but it depends on what is selected.

I like it but i would get rid of the red on the roller coaster / buildings and just have it with red car lights, and statue in colour.

Thank you all for your comments being a novice its a great incite into peoples different views as well as an eye opener, at first i liked the photo with the selective colours...But I am now leaning towards it being a side show trick that maybe I should leave alone. :-)
