Does anyone know whether it's possible to change the graticule in a Canon 5D, or any other Canon camera for that matter? I know from my past life that it was possible change the graticule in a cine camera in order meet aspect ratio requirements. I wonder whether this can be done Canon cameras...

You might better define what YOU mean by 'graticule'.

From my own personal experience with the term I would say 'horizontal & vertical grid lines' or it might mean 'central measurement scale' like, from a rifle marksmanship context, the mil marks in a rifle scope.

The 'grid' can be found in the focusing screens offered by Canon, such as the EE-D, for help in keeping perfect the horizontal or vertical features in a scene.

You can display a grid, with assorted options, in the 7D, 5D2 and later "semi-pro" or better offerings. Check the User Guides (available on-line) and look for "Grid". The 5D2 and 5D3, as well as the 1D series offer interchangeable focusing screens as well as the grid displays.
