Can someone explain how I can change / delete the WiFi settings on my 6D? The situation is that I've had to change my router and need to enter the new network. Is it possible to have the 6D connect to my laptop?

Re connecting to the laptop. I was hoping that I could set up some sort of remote / ad hoc access so that my 6D will communicate direct to my laptop top (away from my home network) to download images to the laptop. I currently use a Eye Fi card in my 600D and that enables me to download remotely to the laptop as the card enables it's own local (10 meters) WiFi network and I was hoping that I could do something similar with the 6D with is WiFi functionality. Is this possible? think you'll have to use the eos utility for that Canon EOS 650D / EOS Rebel T4i / EOS Kiss X6i • EOS 6D | Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II | Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD

So far I've only been able to do this using Canon Utility with the 6D as long as I'm in range of my home WiFi. Canon 6D Canon 600D Canons 24-105mm L 85mm 1.4 IS L 70-300mm L. 100mm F2.8 macro L IS. 16-35mm L nifty fifty. 55-250mm IS. Speedlights Siggy DG530 super Canon EX430II Vivitar 3700

Anyone point me in the right direction please? I can set the camera as an access point using the "Connect to Smartphone" option on the camera, and I can get the computer to connect to the camera. When I connect the computer, the camera goes to a screen that says "Start the EOS utility on the smartphone." Camera doesn't share it's drives (SD card) so it can be seen by the computer. I believe there is probably some hand-shaking that allows the EOS utility on the computer or smartphone to access the card in the camera.

I was hoping that I could set up some sort of remote / ad hoc access so that my 6D will communicate direct to my laptop top (away from my home network) to download images to the laptop. EOS Utility will do exactly that. Which problem remains? Anders

Jan 11, 2015 04:33 | #14 Sorry for the delay in getting back on this. With the help of the previous posts I've been able to set up the WiFi in the camera as an access point and also get the laptop to recognise the camera local network but...... I can't get the computer to connect to the Camera network. Any further ideas / advice please? Jan 11, 2015 07:20 | #15 I am assuming you are at home, and the laptop is already connecting to your wifi network...if so, try turning off the house wifi (without causing a mild panic). The wifi signal from the camera is not as strong as the one coming from your router. I have something of the same issue with my tablet. I can connect to the camera network, but it will too easily roll over to the stronger default house wifi signal. Off-site, where there isn't a default wifi network to connect to, I have no problems.
