Great shot, I'm looking forward to picking up a fuji camera before the end of the year.

Does anyone have thoughts on the 18 2.0? I want this to be a sort of take anywhere small set up

I bought an 18/2 as part of a second hand deal along with an X-E2 & 35/1.4 - was planning on selling the lenses [I already had a 35/1.4] and my X-E1 to minimise the upgrade price to zero. Ended up keeping the 18/2. I find it sharp, in the centre, and the light weight is nice + it's small and not so 'in your face' when shooting people. I get a little bit of green fringing in high contrast areas but it is slight. Overall it's a great lens not as fast as my 16-55/2.8 but quicker than my35/1.4 & for the money it's a bargain [LIke the 35/1.4]

Finally did it & left my 5D3 with all the lovely 'L' and Art glass in the bag. Did an editorial shoot with just the X-T1 & 16-55/2.8 this afternoon after planning the shots yesterday, shot, edited and delivered to the magazine for approval. Got the email back 20 mins later. All good. Happy out.

Great images, Kim! Perfect exposure and spot on tones. The more I use the 16-55, the more I leave every other lens at home.

Thanks, Bobby. I took a bunch of images here as the fog was moving and changing that I need to go through, so I'll probably have one or two more I post. Coming from a resident of the Bay area, a compliment on a fog image is high praise!

Do you also own the 18-55? If so, how do you find they compare?

I've been tempted to consider the 16-55 since it's smaller and wider than the 18-55, but not sure I'd use it enough or be happy enough with the results compared with the 18-55.

I love the first shot btw ;)

I do own the 18-55, and was concerned that the 16-55 wouldn't be that much better considering how much I liked the 18-55, and how much the 16-55 costs. But after shooting with it for a few months, it is (in my opinion) worth the upgrade and worth every penny of its price tag. In fact, it may be the best overall lens I own of any system. The 18-55 is now permanently mounted on my X-E1, and the 16-55 is on my X-T1 about 75% of the time. I have a number of Fuji primes, and the 16-55 is within a hairs width of equivalent to them at every focal length. It is SHARP (even wide open) and being weather resistant gives me some peace of mind when I'm out in inclement weather. Only drawback (if size is a concern) is that it's a big lens in Fuji X terms, but still much smaller than a 2.8 constant aperture DSLR zoom.

Here's another image I shot with the 16-55 of the Lagunitas bottle that really shows how sharp this lens is. Shot wide open, this is just a b&w conversion with standard sharpening of the RAW file and a small clarity bump. Zoom in and look at how crisp that small lettering at the top of the label is where the lens caught prime focus. Giving the X-T1 props too, no NR applied at ISO 1600.
