In Glendalough Co. Wicklow Ireland today

Kim,

I follow you on Flickr and absolutely love your portraits, especially of "the boy." Your style and technical proficiency are inspiring. My son has been in Ireland on business for the past 15 months. We went to Glendalough on one of our visits and were very impressed by its beauty. BTW - if you haven't already - try the Glendalough 13-year-old whisky. It's sublime!

Cheers,
Paul Martin

Thanks very much Paul, am partial to a little whiskey now and again will give it a go. The Boy shot is a long running [at this stage] project of my son titled #TodaysReuben was only going to do a summer but two years later...

Continental Divide in San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. I totally EARNED this picture after a 5 hour hike up to 12,000 feet in a constant downpour. When we arrived, the clouds broke, the sun peaked out, and we had lunch!

It is more than white balance... You can get some interesting looks by having fun with the temps/wb/hue/saturation in your highlights and shadows etc...
Also you can do some split toning. This image has a bit of both... I do it occasionally but not often.

Do a search and you will find lots of info on this...

Some folks like it.. Some don't... Some of the current "portrait presets" being sold for lightroom do a bit of this.
Here are some more that I have done..
