Handsome. Trying out the new 7D2 and 100-400 v2 and a 1.4 TC III on the lens.
Hope to spend some more time with these guys.

Heh, heh, heh..... Thanks Mahn. Wished I had your confidence and could take all the credit, but me thinks I just got lucky ? !

Got to tell you the MK II's combination is pretty nice, although I got a bunch of OOF shots in between focused shots while I had the shutter floored.

Am I wrong thinking if one or two shots in the series are in focus then all subsequent shots should be also ?
It happened a lot with my Little Blue Heron series.

Thanks for checking in, it's a good feeling having someone looking over my shoulder and willing to take the time to keep me on the right road !

Great shots. Is the TC a II or a III? I'm going to get one but the III is about twice the money as a II. What focus mode and case are you using? I'd think you could use all 65 for a BIF and have a high % of keepers.

Thanks Hulgar.... The TC is a III. My mindset from the start of this journey was to use all the newest technology Canon had to offer. I've been patching things up and "making due" all my life. "Damn the Torpedoes" !

[I figure I can get a 350 Holley carburetor to work pretty good on a Lexus, but what the engineers had in mind will work soooo much better.... I only got so much time and I need all the help I can get ! I'm really kinda "wingin'" it here. ;-)a]

Guess I'm in for some more study and if I have the presence of mind in the heat of the battle, next time I'll release all 65 of my soldiers !

Those shots were taken using Case 2 and just the center focus square.

I'm for any edge I can get and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think all 65 points are available when using this lens (EF 100-400 V2) with the 1.4 X TC III.

That is correct you lose focus points with different lens. And if you don't keep that focus point on the target you will get softer photos. You can take the 1.4 off and have more focus points.
