Visited Yellowstone back in the Summer and took a lot of cellphone (Samsung Galaxy S3) pictures. My 60D got left behind by mistake (long story!). I just got Lightroom 5 for Christmas and decided to practice enhancing these pictures. Some turned out pretty good and thought I'd share...

#1 Grand Prismatic Spring - Midway Geyser Basin

If you hadn't said so, I'd believe these were taking with an SLR.

Good shots, all of them.

You should post these in the cell phone section! That area needs more traffic.

Agreed. Wonderful for a cell phone, and wonderful in general.

Thanks Kody! I never noticed there was a cell phone section until you mentioned it. I posted these, and a couple more there as well.

Thanks! I recently upgraded to the S5. The quality of the cameras on these phones is amazing!

I've been lucky to travel all over the world for both work and pleasure. However, I had never been in the Northwest area of the states. This was a "bucket list" trip. We spent 12 days driving through South Dakota. Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. Yellowstone was the primary destination. You owe it to yourself if you have never been to Yellowstone. One word .... UNBELIEVABLE!

I've said many times that I have seen more of the world than our own country. We're fixing that this year. Currently in Florida for the winter and in March we're heading out west. So far we're hoping to hit about 20 states, 10 or 12 National Parks, a few cities and the California wine country. Hope I get some shots like you did.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming....."WOW, WHAT A RIDE".

I love the beautiful colours in the images, but for me personally, the compositions don't really make for me striking images, and the strong midday light doesn't add any drama. But those colours are lovely indeed. Perhaps if you end up visiting Yellowstone again, you could plan some shots and wait for some great light.

I appreciate your critique! If I had taken my real camera, I would most likely have put a little more thought into the shots. But seeing as I was using my cell phone they were just more "spur of the moment". I hope I get the chance to go back to Yellowstone in the future and plan and wait for those better shots!

THANKS! The first picture is my favorite as well. The bacteria in the run-off water looks like lava!

Amazing how far technology has 5 years ago the quality of cell phone pictures wouldn't have come close to touching these. Good job
