I've been playing around with Capture One Pro and the one thing I really miss is using my custom camera profile that I made with the Color Checker Passport. Is it possible to use one with Capture One Pro? It seems ACR/LR use DNG profiles and Capture One Pro uses ICC profiles from what I can tell

The Passport works with Arsobe products only, AFAIK. It does not work with C1P. Same with the SpyderCheckr, although this last one works with another software whose name I can't recall now besides ACR.

You can still use the Passport as a regular colour patch, to set WB.

You can make ICC profiles with a CC passport by using Raw Digger (the Profiling Edition) and Make Input ICC, a wrapper for ArgyllCMS, essentially. You shoot your CC passport in raw, open it in Raw Digger and use the grid tool to sample all of the patches of the CC passport- Raw Digger lets you output the data in CGATS format, ready to be read and fed into Make Input ICC.

So it is possible then? The profile in C1P is not terrible, but the greens just lack that pop that I get with the calibrated profile. Is this process as hard as it sounds?

There is an easier route. Edits done in the Color Editor can be saved as an ICC profile. What Adobe does with a separate application (DNG Profile Editor) is built into C1 Pro 8. Start with the generic profile, in the Color Editor modify it to taste, save out a new ICC profile, make the new profile the default for your camera.

The Profile Edition of Raw Digger is a bit pricey - $90, although the simpler versions are great and worth every penny.

There is an even EASIER way - use the command line tool called "dcp2icc" and convert your custom DCP to an ICC. Then use that ICC in C1.

You type

dcp2icc <complete/path/to/profile.dcp> <color temp>

For example:

dcp2icc mycustomprofile.dcp 5000

This will produce a file called:

"mycustomprofile.icc"
