I just ordered a Manfrotto 190xprob tripod and need a ball head.
I was looking at getting either the K20x or K30x ball head and am wondering which to get.
I have a 60D canon and probably the biggest lens I will put on it would be the 70-200 f2.8 L

Would the K20x be alright for this or should I get the 30?

thanks for any help/suggestions!

I have the K30x on an Induro CF tripod. It holds my 70-200L II and 5D3 very well.

Thanks for the reply guys!!
It looks like both will do the trick.

One of the places I'm looking at to buy has the K30 only $5 more (it's on sale the k20 is not).
With that slight difference would I be better off going with the k30?
The specs seem to be the same except the k30 being bigger and having slightly more weight capacity.

The load capacity of the 190 ProxB is 4.5 Kg, the K20 is 25 kg. So it appears the k30 would be overkill.
Would that be correct?

I have the k30 and it is perfect for my kit (mostly a 6D + 24 TSEii)

I think i would not like the k20 as the k30 is nor too big or heavy, nor too small. I can recommend this head totally!

Edit: get the bigger one if its only 5$ more

A larger head will provide you with a bigger diameter ball which usually means smoother operation. Get the Sirui K-30X.

You absolutely can't trust load specs given by most manufacturers. That goes for tripods as well as ballheads. The only companies that appear to have specs within reason are the top-tier companies that make the most expensive gear. The rest are either from the imaginings of their marketing dept. or the use of a random number table.
