I am wondering how many are using the option to self fulfill at Zenfolio or similar sites with success.

I am in the process of putting together a business plan for a part time photography business focusing on Portraits, Senior Portraits, Maternity and family. In addition I plan to sell some Landscape prints. I love the creative part of actually printing the image and/or matting and framing so I am considering using the self fulfilled option on Zenfolio.

I would love to hear pros and cons from photographers who are using the self fulfilled options as well as those using labs. Why do you prefer self fulfilled or why do you prefer a lab?

I apologize if this has already been addressed (I suspect it has) but I tried various searches without any luck

I self fulfill, I use a Canon Pro 100 and I get stunning prints. I am a bit of a control freak though.

I can print anything up to 12x18"

My orders for larger prints I have a local printer in the greater phoenix, AZ area

I'm curious to see others opinions

The Canon pro100 is very nice. Mate of mine has one and does all my prints for me, which I sell through my website.

I dont use Zenfolio, I host my own site and outsource all printing to a professional lab. If you sell locally and prints under 12x18 you can use printer at home, for other scenarios it is better to outsource.

I want to guest blog on your Landscape / Travel photography blog, PM for details
