Just switched to Nikon bodies from Canon.

In Canon's AFMA, you can store two adjustments for a zoom lens (wide / tele setting).
In Nikon, there is only one? I read the manuals and it says "only one value can be stored for each type of lens".

Has anyone noticed zoom lenses being less accurate because of this, or does it make little difference in the real world?

If I can only use one value, do I just split the difference between the wide and tele settings?

Sorry I can't help! I have tried micro adjusting a few of my previous Canon cameras and my current one but only succeeded in messing things up! All my Canon lenses/cameras have been spot on straight out of the box, whether new or used.
I hope your new Nikons perform as well.

I haven't had a Nikon lens that doesn't focus perfectly yet. If my lenses were out I'd have them calibrated. Even two numbers is an approximation, and can vary for close and distant subjects, I don't DIY.

But it costs to much to send them off to say Nikon and have them micro adjusted, out ways the saving made when you buy second hand, different if you have paid out new with them.
