Traveling with my slider

I have an Igus based "ZazaSlider" that I made, and added a motor. I use it for weddings and promos, it really does a great job. I went on an extended trip to Africa this past summer, and decided not to bring it. I'll be in the Dominican Republic this next month, and thinking about bringing it. Biggest concern is where to keep it when not in use, and whether I should remove the motor, maybe even find a way to rig some folding legs, and lastly, to possibly cut it down a bit. I have never used a full range shot. Always have plenty to spare.

Any ideas?
