Still struggling to get a sharp image of a bird ... not having a lot of luck. Great Egret shot from about fifty yards, could not get closer.

1) Is it a very big crop?
2) I would suggest trying to micro adjust your lens - google this, you will need a tripod
3) With this one the speed might be a little low. I have not got your lens but it could be partly camera shake.

It was a large crop. I did the google, interesting read - thanks. It was on a tripod, I'm too old to hand-hold a telephoto :-D
