We don't get many of them around here. They are such beautiful birds. Image hosted by forum (1175120) © Knoxville_Photographer [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. BirdsofBC " eye candy, pure and simple" More info Post edited over 1 year ago by BirdsofBC. (2 edits in all) | Aug 27, 2022 15:34 | #3790 this is a lake bed of a city owned park, and they're doing dam work on one end of it so they had to drain a lot of the water. where that heron is standing, there should be about 1 foot of water, you can even see the vegetation in the background too, high and dry. the white flecks you see are the feathers of the hundreds of birds that typically reside there, who have been moulting feathers for quite a while now. a lot of them have moved on, but there's still a bunch of them where the water is still high enough. anyways , this GBH seems a bit confused, and was just wondering aimlessly, but he did eventually find some water. i thought it looked so out of place, so i grabbed a few shots.
