Our son works with a single mom who's son is a live wire. Offered to try to capture some headshots for them and we all enjoyed a fun session. I'm not sure what agents or producers look for in commercial shots but this is my first pass at it. Welcome c&c.

I like the composition on both. The attitude in both are great too. It's hard to tell from these sizes but it looks like photo1 the focus is off a little bit, seems like it's locked on the glasses and not the eyes. Photo2 the skin toneless a little orange. Just nitpicking I would have fixed the collar in photo2 and maybe given him a brush over with a lint roller. Looks like there's some white stuff on his shoulder.

Nice work overall!

I like the shots, but I don't think cropping both to cut off the top of the head works. I think the bow tie adds to the first one, so a looser crop would help that. The skin tones vary a lot between shots. I don't have any experience taking pictures of people of color so I don't know if that much variation between shots is normal or acceptable.

The shots do an excellent job of conveying the "live wire" aspect you mentioned.

Random Question Did the kid play in a couple episodes of One tree hill when it was on tv? Looks just like a kid on there.
